Welcome to LaManzanilla

In particular, Casa de las Musas - a newly renovated casa a block to a most wonderful gentle beach, facing west, perfect for swimming and tanning, lined with little restaurants serving cervasas and seafood. The house has three bedrooms (a king, a double, twins) and three bathrooms and has lots of room inside and out. There is a huge terraca overlooking the garden of mango, avocado, papaya, coconut and fig trees. As you can see from the photos, there are two "living rooms", one is downstairs, equipt with a DVD player/stereo, and opens into the garden. The other is on the main floor and opens to the veranda, dining room and kitchen. Everything is new - the kitchen, dishes, bathrooms, linen, furniture and so on. Water is delivered daily, garbage is picked up, and a cleaning person comes once a week.

This is a place away from it all.

It is just a forty minute drive from that airport and you can take a taxi right to the house. Otherwise you can land in Puerto Vallarta, and head south by bus or rented car - it's about a four hour drive.

It's great to have transportation while you are there, but you can take a bus to Melaque or Barra De Navidad, which comes and goes several times a day. And there are lots of little grocery stores in town where you can shop for everything you need. And if you are wanting to learn Spanish there is no better place, with a small academy that caters to gringos, and a whole town that will happily and with a sense of humor, correct your pronounciation.

This is not a tourist town. There are no big hotels, no resorts. It's a place away, and a place that loves children, is tolerant of eccentric and non-eccentric gringos, in the true "don't worry, be happy" tradition.
